I can see that. I can also understand that I'm coming at it from a completely different vantage point as Brooks (and others) are and I respect their arguments and they make sense for them.
For me, it was about the strength of the human spirit and love both between parents and children and between partners; about the importance of humor and of the gift of storytelling to survival.
